Titus Simiyu Wanjala, 43, of Clive, Iowa, passed away on July 7, 2026, at Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Born on September 19, 1982, in Kenya, Titus was the beloved son of David Wanjala Matala and Perisita Namalwa Wanjala. From an early age, he demonstrated determination, intelligence, and an unwavering desire to succeed—qualities that would define his life and inspire those around him.

Titus began his education at Luyekhe Primary School, where he completed his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in 1996. He continued his studies at Kamusinde High School before transferring to Sang'alo Secondary School, where he earned his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) in 2001, graduating among the school's top students with a B grade. Motivated by a passion for helping others, Titus enrolled at Makerere University in Uganda in 2004 to study medicine. Although financial challenges prevented him from completing his medical degree, he refused to let adversity define his future. Instead, he embraced new opportunities with determination and resilience. In 2006, Titus began his professional career with Nakumatt Holdings Limited as a Management Trainee. Through exceptional leadership, integrity, and dedication, he rose steadily through the organization to become Security Operations Director. In this role, he oversaw security operations for Nakumatt stores across East and Central Africa, earning the respect of colleagues and becoming known as one of the company's most trusted and dependable leaders. He served with distinction until 2018.

Titus was first married to Jennifer Wafula in a traditional ceremony in 2006. Together they were blessed with four daughters: Marygorret Nasimiyu Simiyu, Purity Nanjala Simiyu, Michelle Naliaka Simiyu, and Francisca Nafula Simiyu. Though their marriage later ended by mutual agreement, they remained forever connected through the family they built together. In 2016, Titus met the love of his life, Violet Kavere Aluvisia. Following his move to the United States, the couple married on October 1, 2020. Their marriage was blessed with their 1st God given sons, River Cropper, who was 19 at the time, and David Wanjala Simiyu, born in January 2024. Titus cherished every moment spent with his children and found his greatest joy in being a husband and father.

After relocating to the United States, Titus pursued further education at Texas State University, where he studied Artificial Intelligence. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to develop websites and innovative technology projects, including Titonova Meurovoree, Paymasters Global, and an electronic health records system that reflected his vision for improving healthcare through technology.

Professionally, Titus worked as a Direct Support Specialist with Link Associates from July 2022 through August 2023. He later founded Iowa Nursing & Rehab, where he specialized in Intellectual Disability Waiver services. Through HCBS group homes, he dedicated himself to providing compassionate care and support to individuals with disabilities, improving the lives of many in his community. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Titus will be remembered for his love of family, his generous heart, and his remarkable resilience. He treasured spending time with his children, especially playing games for hours with his sons and taking evening walks together. He enjoyed maintaining an active lifestyle through daily workouts, sharing meals with family and friends, and never turned down a strong cup of coffee, no matter the time of day.

Those who knew Titus will remember his intelligence, kindness, generosity, perseverance, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. He faced life's challenges with courage and grace, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His legacy of hard work, compassion, and determination will continue to inspire his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.

Titus is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Violet Kavere Aluvisia; his children, Marygorret Nasimiyu Simiyu, Purity Nanjala Simiyu, Michelle Naliaka Simiyu, Francisca Nafula Simiyu, River Cropper, and David Wanjala Simiyu; his parents, David Wanjala Matala and Perisita Namalwa Wanjala; and his siblings: Everlyne Nabututu Wanjala, Victor Rubia Wanjala, Sister Clare Nabwala Wanjala, Dishon Wanjala, Doreen Wanjala, Edwin Wanjala, Kizito Wanjala, Augustine Wanjala, Hellen Wanjala, and Constant Wanjala, together with many extended family members, friends, and colleagues in Kenya, the United States, and beyond.
