Robin Henry Butts, affectionately known as "Robbie," of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, surrounded by family and love. He was 66 years old. Born on July 22, 1959, in Des Moines to Norma Jean and Merlyn Butts, Robbie was a proud lifelong resident of his hometown. He was known for his big personality, quick wit, and a heart that could fill any room he entered. Robbie worked for many years as an auto body mechanic and machine technician, where his skill, dedication, and humor made him a favorite among coworkers and customers alike. He took great pride in his work and was always ready to lend a helping hand or share a good laugh. A man of many interests, Robbie loved watching westerns, running track & field in his younger days, a skilled self taught musician and enjoyed admiring sports cars. He was a true foodie, never passing up a good meal, and he enjoyed the simple joy of board games with friends and family. Known as a storyteller, jokester, and firecracker, he could turn any ordinary moment into a memorable one. Robbie is preceded in death by his beloved son Tacono Tyron Conner. He is survived by his children Robin Jamez, and Ty Maree (Santiago) Alonzo; his cherished grandchildren Mahogani Willis, Mateo Alonzo, Imani Alonzo, Amaris Alonzo, Santiago Alonzo Jr., Tacono Conner Jr., Ja'Vionta Conner, Malachi Conner, and Kingston Conner; his siblings Loren Butts, Gaynelle Moore, Demery Butts, Derick Butts, Antonee Butts (Lorna), and Merloren Butts; his aunts Jeanette Lowery and Veronica Haywood; his Aunt and Uncle Teri Jo and Terry Lee Fisher; Aunt Beverly Bragg, Uncle Fred Butts, Uncle Paul Butts and Aunt Paulette Butts:; Karen and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. A special acknowledgment goes to his dear friends Keith and Janey Taylor, who shared many years of laughter, support, and friendship with him. Robbie's legacy is one of laughter, love, and storytelling — a reminder that life is meant to be lived out loud and with joy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
