Ray True, 63, of Boone, Iowa, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2026, at his home around 4:00 p.m. Ray was born August 24, 1962, in O'Neill, Nebraska, to Victor H. True and Evelyn W. (Gehring) True. Ray shared over 30 years of his life in a committed relationship with Kim Miller, building a home rooted in love, loyalty, and family. Though not legally married, their bond was unwavering, and Ray was a devoted partner and constant presence. Ray proudly raised Elisabeth Hammer and Zack Miller as his own children. He was a loving and steady dad in every way that mattered, offering guidance, support, and unconditional love. One of his greatest joys was being a grandfather to Brayden Hammer and Brooklyn Hammer, who brought him immense pride and happiness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Evelyn True; his twin sister, Fay N. True; and his sisters Vickie True Saeger and Anne True. Ray is survived by Kim Miller; his children, Liz Hammer and Zack Miller; his grandchildren, Brayden and Brooklyn Hammer; his siblings Evelyn True Schellenberg (Gary) of Toledo, Iowa, and Victor G. True of Lincoln, Nebraska; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Ray will be remembered for his quiet strength, his deep devotion to family, and the way he showed up every day for the people he loved.
