Kenneth (Kenny) Washington III
Kenneth (Kenny) Washington III was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on October 27, 2026. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Amazing Grace Church in Des Moines. His HomeGoing Celebration will immediately follow and begin at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Moses Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.
He was born on November 16, 1989, to Gaylynne Shade-Rudison and Kenneth Washington Jr.
Kenny was united in marriage to Tara Washington on December 20, 2009. Together, they shared a family and created memories that will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
Kenny's greatest joy in life was spending time with his children: Heaven Harmony, Ken'Nae, Ke'Ari, and Kenneth IV. Being a father was a role he cherished, and his love for his children was immeasurable.
When he wasn't spending time with his children, Kenny enjoyed firing up the grill, fishing, landscaping, and, most importantly, making people laugh. He had a love for music and enjoyed playing the drums. In fact, there wasn't an instrument he wouldn't try. His personality, sense of humor, and ability to bring laughter into a room made him someone who was truly unforgettable.
Kenny graduated from Hoover High School in 2008 and went on to obtain his MS Web Expressions Certificate in 2010.
Kenny accepted Christ and was baptised at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in 1995 by the late Reverend Irvin Lewis. He was a longtime member of Amazing Grace, where he played the drums and worked as a Deacon in training.
He had a beautiful voice and shared it with very little; in fact, his Uncle Dwayne is probably the only one who could get him going.
Kenny's life was filled with love, laughter, family, and memories that will be treasured forever. Though his time here was far too short, the impact he made and the love he shared will never be forgotten.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the blessing of knowing him. His laughter will echo in our memories, his love will remain in our hearts, and his legacy will live on through his children and everyone whose life he touched.
Left to cherish his memories are his brothers and sisters Jordan (Teka) Shade, Frankie Washington, Josiah Rudison, Carlotta (Brian) Conklin, Dinesha Adair, Mya Rudison, Laya Rudison, Jazzlynne Rudison, and Jalexus Crooks; his grandparents George and Marji Shade and Norma Smith; his children; and a host of many family and friends.
You may be gone from our sight, but you will forever remain in our hearts until we meet again.
