Kenneth Leroy Henderson, 63, passed away on January 8, 2026. Born on October 4, 1962, Kenny lived a life marked by street-deep friendships, sharp humor, and a love for the people and places that made him who he was. He cherished his family, treasured his friends, and had a lifelong passion for sports. Anyone who knew Kenny knew he was shaped by the streets - he understood them, moved through them with confidence, and wore the hard lessons like a tattoo. Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Henderson, Sr., his mother, Mildren Henderson, and his sister Renee Henderson. Kenny leaves behind his son, Kenneth Henderson, III, who carries on his name and legacy; he is also survived by his siblings, Terry Edwards, Sherry, and Cindy Henderson, and his older brother, Dennis Henderson. Kenny will be remembered for his resilience, his humor, street smarts, and ability to survive. His unmistakable presence was brought into every room he entered, and his absence will leave a space unfilled, but his memory will continue to live in our hearts and minds forever. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the Evangelistic Missionary Church of God in Christ, 1000 Pennsylvania Ave., Des Moines, Iowa 50316.
