Kathyrn "KD" Mosby, 34, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on March 30, 2026. Her passing was sudden and unexpected—she drifted away in her sleep, leaving her family and friends in shock and deep sorrow. A private family service will be held. KD was born on January 23, 1992, in Des Moines, to Kenneth Mosby Sr. and Yvette Bates. She grew up in Des Moines, where she attended Scavo High School and then DMACC. KD Mosby was a beautiful person inside and out, with a heart that loved to love. She was an adoring mom to her two young children, always putting their happiness and well-being first. KD loved to love, spend time with her kids and family, listening to music, singing, being a social butterfly, snuggling with kittens, and being a social media queen. Her kindness and warmth touched everyone who knew her, and her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled. Those left to cherish her loving memory are her kids, Eleah and Iziah Mosby; mother Yvette Bates; dad Kenneth Mosby Sr.; siblings Babette Bates and Kenneth Mosby Jr.; grandparents DeVotie and Mattie Darling and Kathy Williams; a host of nieces and nephews; and father of her children, Cody Walther. KD was preceded in death by her grandfather, Raymond Bates. Hendersons Funeral & Cremation Care has been entrusted with the care of KD and her family.
