John’Ray Mikkel D’angelo Green, a beloved son, father, brother, and friend, passed away on May 21, 2026, at the age of 24 in his hometown of Des Moines, Iowa. Born on October 17, 2001, at Mercy Hospital. JohnRay’s life was a testament to the joy and love he shared with all who knew him.
From a young age, JohnRay showed great talent and passion as a running back, playing for the Eagles, the Rattlers for iCud, and during his high school years at North High School. His dedication and spirit extended beyond the field into his work at Katecho.
JohnRay’s true joy came from the heartwarming moments he spent with his children Jay’Leah Johnson-Green, Jahzara Johnson-Green and Jayceon Johnson-Green, as well as the laughter and camaraderie shared with his close friends and cousins. Whether rolling dice or simply being present, his vibrant spirit brightened every room.
He is lovingly remembered by his parents, Orville Green and Tamica Fuller, and step-father, Randall Williams; his siblings, Shellvonne Fuller and Daveontaye Green. His Uncles, David Fuller, Raymond Fuller, Davon Canada, Daraughn Canda, and nieces and nephews, Karmon, Karmonie, Kamarion, and Ke’Juan Fuller-Lyke; his grandmothers, Shirley Fuller and Norban Logan; his grandfathers, David Fuller and Michael Hilson. He is cherished by friends and close cousins; Marquane Cunningham, Rome Jordan, Rickey Meneweather Jr and Isiah Bolden hold his memory dear.
JohnRay was preceded in death by his grandparents, Irene and Mack Williams; his aunt Willamenia Jordan; and his cousin Meniasha Fuller and Uncle Johnray Fuller. Though he has left this world, his legacy of love, warmth, and strength continues to inspire all who had the privilege to know him.
A visitation to honor JohnRay’s life will be held at Hendersons Funeral & Cremation Care on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed immediately by his HomeGoing Service at 1:00 p.m.

JohnRay’s life was a precious gift to all who knew him, and his spirit will live on forever in their hearts.
