Ida Jo Ervin, 57, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at MercyOne in Des Moines, surrounded by her loving family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Ida was born on March 21, 1968, in Trenton, MO, to Lawrence and Bonnie (Farr) Cheeney. She grew up in Tenton and Des Moines where she attended school. Ida married David Ervin and to this union 3 daughters were born. They raised their family in Des Moines where Ida was a stay at home mom. For the last 10 years her and Frank Coker have enjoyed a good life together in Des Moines. Ida was a loving mother and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and also her pet cockatiels and rottweilers. She also loved to watch WWE wrestling with Roman Reives being her favorite. Ida always looked forward to spending the holidays with her family. She also enjoyed shopping at New To You (as she called it "the old lady store") and getting soda from QT daily. Those left to cherish her loving memory are her husband Frank Coker; daughters Tabitha Cheeney, Tesia (Silverio Cruz Hernandez) Ervin, and Shyanne (Terrence Lovelady Jr.) Ervin; sisters Mary Wilson and Betty Jo Cheeney; many nieces and nephews; and close friends. Ida joined her parents, brother, and extended family in Heaven. Hendersons Funeral & Cremation Care has been entrusted with the care of Ida.
