Francean Clark, 65, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at New Beginnings Full Gospel Church (555 E. Euclid Ave) in Des Moines, Iowa. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Francean was born on May 13, 1960, to Emanuel and Mary Francis (James) Dillard in Burlington, Iowa. She grew up in Sioux City, Iowa, and later in St. Louis, Missouri, where she attended high school. Following school, she attended the University of Missouri at St. Louis. Francean moved to Des Moines, where she worked for various churches and at UPS. She married James Clark on December 4, 2004, and the couple lived in Des Moines. Over the years, she played the piano and sang in the choir of Morningstar Church, Trinity Baptist Church, Kyles AME Zion Church, Faith of the Nazarene, New Beginnings Full Gospel, and the Juneteenth Choir. Francean retired from UPS after 16 years of service. Francean enjoyed spending time with her family, being at home, sewing, crocheting, listening to and playing music, and going to the thrift store. Those left to cherish her loving memory are her husband, James Clark; father Bishop Emanuel Dillard; siblings Demond (Brenda) Dillard and Charlotte James; step-sisters Lynne Dillard and Djanna (Luke) Pitman; a host of nieces and nephews; and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Francis Dillard, son, Michael Dillard, and siblings Edna Burton and Emanuel Dillard. Memorial contributions may be directed to her family.
