Christina Paulina Garner was born on July 4, 1956, to loving parents Richard Don
Carter and Deloris Elliot. She was a cherished sister to three sisters and five brothers.
After a brave and lengthy battle with illness, Christina found eternal peace on January
21, 2026.
Christina's life was a tapestry of love, service, and joy. In the early 80s, Christina
proudly served her country in both the Army National Guard and the Air Force National
Guard. It was in the late 70s, however, that she truly found her heart's home when she
met the love of her life, Earl Howard Nelson. Together, they shared an incredible journey
of love and togetherness for 47 beautiful years.
A devoted Christian, Christina found profound joy in her roles as a wife, mother, and
grandmother. Her family was her pride and joy, and she poured her heart into every
moment with them. Christina's laughter was contagious, whether shared in private
moments or bustling family gatherings. She loved shopping with her daughter, always
showcasing her keen fashion sense, often adorned in chic leopard prints, and delighting
in sweet cherry slices.
Christina's zest for life was evident in her love for parties, singing in the choir at St. John
Baptist Church, and her passion for music. She found solace and happiness in long
walks, exploring the wonders of the world, and now she walks in heaven, embraced by
eternal grace.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Richard and Deloris, her dear
grandmother, Christina Carter (aka Nornie), and her grandfather and George Carter
(aka Nash).

Justice (Molly) Lewis, Howard Earl Nelson, and DaRicha (Steven) Nicholson. Her favorite Aunt NormaJean Carter and Best Friend Jeanine Duncan (aka) Sissy) Her legacy of love continues with a host of grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
